Meet the Team

Hello All……

Patrice Benjamin and Asifa Malik would like to welcome you to our site. We are the Youth Program Coordinators at the Advocacy Office.
Over the last few years we have been working to ensure the involvement of young people on all levels at our office.  It is imperative that we ensure the active participation of young people and also make certain that the voices of youth are overall entrenched in all of the work that we do.
You will be able to find information on some of the projects that we are involved in within our projects section on our site.

A little about us individually,  I’m Patrice Benjamin and I have  had a wide experience working with children and youth from a wide range of background but my love is working with those within the child welfare system,  there are a lot of great things happening within the system however there is still a long way to go. “Advocacy isn’t a nine to five job but in my mind a lifestyle that you choose to embark on”. Many of our programs are driven by the young people that we work with and we believe that the only way that we can ensure we are working to hear the voices of those that have been silenced.

I’m Asifa Malik and my passion is Children’s Rights.  I believe that if we give  children and youth the  resources and tools to be their own advocate then they will……….   you will be amazed at what they will accomplish. When given the opportunities.  If we begin doing this as soon as young people  come into care then transitioning into adulthood  will be successful.
